Building
the Harbor Skiff

From the Introduction...

I’ve lived and worked here on the Coast of Maine since the 60s. In all that time, I have seen countless skiffs, used them on salt and fresh water, and have built a bunch of them–I honestly can’t recall how many. Even the saddest of them had some good qualities, and some of them even looked good tethered to the town floats, but precious few were what I would call exceptional. The Harbor Skiff is one of the few.

The Harbor Skiff is 12'-0" overall with a 5'-0" beam, the maximum size skiff that can be left at the town float at Lincolnville Beach (Maine)...that's the reason for her size as well as her name.

The photo on the book's cover and on the CD was taken at the author's mooring on a still morning in October just after daybreak.
